Tiger Sharks Photographic Tour

This week runs in conjunction with the Ultimate Shark Tour, and can be taken individually or as a two week package

Aliwal Shoals on the East Coast of South Africa some 25 miles south of Durban is known as one of the top 3 dive destinations in this beautiful country.

Limited to 6 participants plus Tony. It is here that Mark Addison owner of Blue Wilderness Diving has become the only successful dive operator to attract in the awesome Tiger Shark. Where in conjunction with an ongoing research and tagging programme with Durban University, he offers selected divers/underwater photographers the opportunity to dive and photograph these beautiful creatures.

Flexibility is the word for this year, not only will we be diving with Tiger sharks but one day will be spent at nearby Protea banks where we can expect to witness Zambezi and Raggie Toothed sharks. As and when the opportunity presents itself we will also be diving selected sites on Aliwal shoal itself to witness some of the stunning variety of marine animals, flora and fauna this world renowned site has to offer.

This is Tony’s 4nd year to this venue and sixth working with Mark on various projects.
Mark has built an enviable reputation for delivering the goods. Working with world renowned film companies such as National Geographic, The BBC Wildlife Crew, and world renowned stills photographer Doug Perrine.
Describing it as “the highlight of his 2006 diving calendar” Tony quoted to get up close and personal with this awesome creature has to be the ultimate goal of every underwater photographer/diver.

On arrival at our destination a typical day would be 0900 breakfast, 1000 launch boat from Umkomaas beach, 1100 – 1500 dive and photograph Tiger Sharks, 1530 return to base with evening at leisure.
